Melissa Magee, Co-Owner, CSR, RPR, was born and raised in Simpson County, Mississippi. She's a 1983 graduate of Magee High School and a 1988 graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi, where she obtained a bachelor of science degree in business administration, emphasis on court reporting.
After graduation from college, Ms. Magee went to work for Certi Comp Court Reporters, the first machine shorthand firm in the state of Mississippi. In 1989 Ms. Magee bought the firm and has served the legal community of the state of Mississippi for the past 16 years, as well as served as mentor for many reporters coming out of school and entering the reporting field.
In 1994 Ms. Magee sat for and successfully obtained the RPR (Registered Professional Reporter) certification, achieving speeds in excess of 225 words per minute. She is currently working toward completing the CM (Certificate of Merit) which will enable her to write in excess of 260 words per minute. She has had the distinct honor of serving as the court reporter for the Federal grand jury for the past ten years. She has reported for Federal court, chancery court, circuit court, county court, justice court, and has taken depositions across the state of Mississippi on a wide array of technical topics.
Ms. Magee takes great pride in affording to all clients a two-week turnaround on all jobs taken and provides ASCII diskettes and key word indexing with every transcript.
